"Loka samastha sukhino bhavanthu" ...the sound of her voice resonates from the depth of my being When  I think of Geetha .. Her melodious voice filled with emotion . The image of her closed eye lids in complete meditation The total absorption in the meaning of those words ... (May the world be blessed) flashes before me .. My eyes well with tears !

She made sure that every concert ended with these words !

 The dancer is finishing her concert, audience in total rapture giving her a standing ovation.. Loud applause ... The glitz.. Glamour ... . none of these affect Geetha.. For her , these are the final moments of that concert that she poured her heart and soul on to. She touches the photograph of Baba  she had so  reverently placed  in front of her and puts it back in her purse. That's it. finished .. No looking back . Nothing more..  Nothing less!

That was Geetha... The singer  and friend that I had the privilege of getting to know over the years and admired . I admired her dedication , her enthusiasm , her whole hearted involvement in any project -  big or small.. Arangetram or productions . I admired Her maturity well beyond her years . Her total surrender to almighty . Her simplicity .. Her magnanimity .. Her generosity.. I can go on and on.

Our association started when she sang for one of my arangetrams over 15 years ago. The entire community was thrilled to have such a gifted musician among us. The journey continued through many set backs even till last year when she sang beautifully on August 1st of 2015 for an arangetram. I  Never thought that it would be the last one.

What a show you had put on dear Geetha . The show that ended well before its time.. Your voice was silenced While we were still looking for an encore performance.

 Arangetrams will never be the same . Your voice will always resonate in all our hearts .. We will miss you forever and ever.
