Climate Change and Adaptation

What are we going to do when our cities get hit by major hurricanes every year? How would countries cope with extremely high temperatures, followed by heavy rains and floods? How are we going to adapt when Boston gets hit by major winter snowstorms every year?

As development accelerates and carbon emissions increase leading to high temperature and rising sea levels, global weather is going to change and reach new extremes, where violent hurricanes with high storm surges, heat waves and intense snowstorms will become the norm. Societies, cities and countries are going to have to adapt. Technology and public policy will play a major role in adapting to climate change.

Climate change is already happening and we need to react and prepare. Let us explore the way forward with a panel of distinguished academics, policy makers and technologists.
