Press Release 03/09/2016 IANH is organizing its Grand Fundraiser: Dawat 2016 on Saturday April 2, 2016 at Alpine Grove in Hollis NH. Doors open 5pm. The fundraiser will feature DJ Silk Events (Rishi Sher Bawa), fashion show and makeup by IndoFashionz and Flawless Creations (Ambika Mangtani and Vidhi Dalia respectively), silent and live auctions, glamor photo shoot, followed by a delicious dinner & dance catered by Udupi Restaurant. The objective this year, as in the past, is to raise funds for charitable non-profit organizations both in US & India as well as to contribute towards IANH’s community service activities. This year IANH has chosen to donate proceeds from the event towards the nonprofit organizations Learn to Love Incorporated, and Tamil Nadu Flood Relief. The mission of Learn to Love (LTL) is to support and assist underprivileged children by promoting their health, education, and overall well-being. LTL partners with S.E.C. (The Society for the Education of the Crippled) to provide the tools its students need to succeed. They help raise money to fund certain aspects of S.E.C.'s operations, such as nutritious meals, physical therapy, handicap-accessible facilities, counselors, and more. S.E.C. has since grown to provide special transportation, free medical evaluations and therapy, nutritious meals, development centers, vocational training as well as job placement services in four schools across Mumbai. These schools serve over 400 students of varied capabilities. In addition IANH will continue to donate towards the rebuilding of places ravaged by the recent Tamil Nadu floods, whose fearsome power left behind destruction and the loss of lives and homes. Most of the functional arms of government and establishment have been rendered powerless against the sheer demands. The media is rife with images of individual heroism, quite inspiring in itself. IANH continues to be engaged in a multitude of community service activities. Its members volunteer to cook and serve lunch and dinner at the Nashua and Manchester Soup kitchens eighteen times a year. IANH on a regular basis also donates in cash and kind to the Soup Kitchens, the Salvation Army and the Nashua Children’s Home. IANH is prompt at offering support and financial aid when it comes to helping the community in the USA, India and other countries. A few years ago through Dawat, IANH was able to collect and donate over fifteen thousand dollars to Udavum Karangal, a non-profit organization in South India involved in some wonderful activities within local communities. In addition to offering free medical care, Udavum Karangal also provides residential support to the mentally challenged, children, and the elderly and destitute. It runs educational facilities for over 2000 underprivileged children, covering the cost of their books as well as lunch. Last year Dawat benefitted the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Central New England Chapter, and Badhir Vidhyalay Viklang Kalyan Samiti in India. This year’s fundraiser as usual promises to be a fun-filled gala event, and IANH looks forward to seeing its many supporters and well-wishers at Dawat 2016. We seek your sponsorships/donations and appeal to your sense of humanity and camaraderie! We will ensure that your contributions will reach the needy through these recognized organizations performing many commendable charitable works.
