Sapna Aggarwal 01/27/2016 Women doctors with many of last several presidents being women have traditionally played a very significant role in the Indian Medical Association of New England. The organization has had some sort of women's group or forum often in its history .The group, originally launched in 2003 or 2004, was re-launched in October 2008 after a period of inactivity under the leadership of Dr Manorma Mathur, Dr Mohani Malhotra and Dr Prema Ramdev. Meeting was hosted at the home of Dr Bhanu Devi. Dr Jhaveri, who is a podiatrist at Lahey clinic in Danvers, Mass., said "We decided to have more formal Women's Forum after doing informal gatherings of women doctors for many years, to have a more focused plan for meetings. Women not only enjoy networking with other women, but we learn a lot from each other". The Women's Forum plans to link with organizations working with women in this area and helping with social causes, fundraising, and networking with other women physicians, promoting Indian culture, developing a support system and empowering women to be achievers Women's Forum meetings are also not restricted to IMANE members only .All women physicians are invited to join all forum meetings. Women's Forum is planning to have meetings every 4 months to bring together women doctors to network and socialize.
