“Merit is helping others and sin is hurting others”:

In response to an appeal from several low-income families in an area in Chennai that was hit hard by the recent floods, the Hindu Temple of New Hampshire is working on a focused and targeted effort to support basic rehabilitation of these families. The first phase of the project was recently initiated with the delivery of some essential items including groceries, pillows, and blankets to several needy families in Bharathidasan Colony – K.K. Nagar, Chennai. The Temple is happy to share pictures of the distribution of the aid and of the grateful recipients of the aid in this first phase.

The Temple plans to support about 25 families initially. The support will be extended to more families depending on the amount of funds the Temple is able to raise for this effort. The Temple welcomes your contribution to this effort. Any amount however small contributed to this Paropakara Nidhi (funds to serve others) is welcome.

In response to appeals from various organizations, many of you have already contributed generously to help the residents of Chennai, whose lives were severely impacted by this natural disaster. The Hindu Temple of New Hampshire’s “Paropakara Nidhi” provides one more channel and opportunity for you to help those in need in Chennai, and to have a direct and positive impact on several Chennai families in desperate need. You can contribute to this effort by mailing your check payable to “HTNH” (mark it as for “Paropakara Nidhi - Chennai flood relief”) and mailing it to PO Box 7041, Nashua, NH 03060. The Hindu Temple of New Hampshire is 501c(3) certified (Tax id: 30-0467085), and donations to the Temple are tax-deductible. Your timely contributions will be gratefully received and used to help bring some relief to the suffering families.
