TiE-Boston held its 16th Annual Gala at the Oakley Country Club, Watertown, MA on December 3, 2015.
Oliver Gaugarin welcomed the Charter Members, sponsors and the invited guests. Anuradha Yadav, Executive Director, gave an overview of the activities during the year which included an increase in Charter Membership by more than 20%, launch of the ScaleUp program and a year which was cash positive. The gala also featured music by the Berklee Indian Ensemble.
TiE presented Entrepreneurial Achievement Awards to Vikram Aggarwak of EnergySage, Anil and Sanjay Agrawal of CIMCON Lighting, Inc, Thomas Arul of Expecient, Prat Moghe of Cazena and Ramesh Kumar of zakipoint Health.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Sushil Tuli of Leader Bank. "Sushil is not only a great entrepreneur but a great human being. He helps everyone not just from the South Asian community but from all communities," said Jit Saxena.
The finale of the gala featured a fireside chat with Sushil Tuli and moderated by Nitin Nohria. Sushil talked about his journey to starting Leader Mortgage with a goal to help low and medium income people.
"With strong business ethics, Leader Bank never got into the business of subprime mortgages. Finally, with an asset based business, Leader Bank is poised to be the best and succeed even if the interest rates rise in the future" said Sushil Tuli.
TiE also presented Volunteeer of the Year Award to Shaloo Savla, Member of the Year Award to Atul Soni and Rising Entrepreneur of the Year Award to Poorvi Patodia of Biena Foods.
