Press Release 09/10/2003
Association of Americans of Indian origin in New England Area
Second Annual AAINA dinner and Panel Discussion- India-US Two Strategic Nations.
AAINA is pleased to offer a platform to explore the foundation of the partnership between the two largest democracies on this planet. India has emerged as an ideal partner due to its variety of advantages over other countries. These include, amongst others, unlimited talent pool, vibrant economy that nurtures entrepreneurship, English speaking workforce, stable democratic Government, and its favorable policies.
During Second Annual celebration of AAINA on Sunday, September 28th 2003 in Milan Restaurant and Banquet Hall at Shrewsbury a group of panelists will offer their expertise with respect to India unfolding as the destination of choice for many multinational companies.
“Three years ago, during my visit to India, the country was emerging as an IT superpower. Today, the country is handling the most sophisticated projects in the world...I am impressed with the talent we have in our India Development Center and the quality of software being developed.”(Bill Gates) .
According to McKinsey Co., India will continue to have a growing number of companies working on complex projects …. 82% of US companies rank India as their first choice. By the year 2008, outsourcing in India is going to be worth $24 billions. .
Let there be no doubt, this partnership extends well beyond outsourcing. U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Christina B. Rocco stated that the U.S. and India are "natural partners" on a range of issues, including the war against terrorism, non-proliferation, national defense, global climate change, law enforcement, and economic development. AAINA believes this relationship has potential to transcend in the fields of medicine, pharmaceutical research, military, and above all benefit to its own peoples.

Said Shailesh Baid, Vice President, AAINA
“ AAINA is a non- profit political organization. We hope to represent our community and give voice to their opinions and issues. Despite being one of the richest and most affluent communities in the US, Indian Americans have not been represented in too many political offices. Our effort is to change that. I would urge everyone to attend this event and consider joining this premier organization.
As always, the program will be followed by dinner and dance. Veteran film star Dev Anand is expected to attend the event.
AAINA events in the past have been immensely popular and this time too we expect a full attendance this time too. Please book your tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment.”
