Kumu Gupta presents Mayor Koch with ceremonial Lamps ("Diya's") for Festival of Diwali. Diwali or Festival of Lights, celebrated on Nov. 11th for 10 days,  worldwide by more than a billion followers of Hinduism, Sikhism and Jainism marks triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.

Mayor Koch won his 5th term, as Mayor of Quincy this November and will be serving for 4 years instead of 2 yrs, a first for the City. The Mayor's Drug Task Force was awarded an Advocate for Action Award by the white house for use of Narcane in saving lives due to drug overdose, making Quincy a national model for this kind of treatment.
