Sudhir Parikh
11/19/2015

SATSANG Center hosted  several programs this Fall.   NavRatri celebrations were held Oct 13th thru 22nd , Sharad Purnima on 26th and Karwa Chauth on Oct 30th.  Laxmi Pujan was done on Dhan Teras day. Maruti Maha Yagya as discovered by Pujya Shri Morari Bapu along with recitation of SundarKand was performed on Kali Chaudas.  Diwali was celebrated Diwali with Annakut Mahotsav on Nov 14th.  31 years ago, Annakut Mahotsav was the first Public Program for SATSANG.   Over 200 Devotees attended the excellent rendering of ShreeNathji Bhajans.

Then next day on Nov 15th, we had Diwali Appreciation Dinner to recognize the highest donors and other contributors who served SATSANG's cause.  Dinner event also featured a dance program and a Bollywood Musical evening by Jewel Alam and Suparna Biswas.    Jewel Alam and Suparna Biswas mesmerized the audience with the singing of beautiful melodious songs including a wide range that included old time favorites and latest Bollywood songs.

Besides the food items donated by local Woburn restaurants Ziaka, Hot Breads and Indian Market the main course dinner was prepared by SATSANGI Volunteers with lots of love!

A special highlight this year was the SATSANG Diwali and RANGOLI Festival. Rangoli event was organized by Bina Morparia, who also runs SATSANG Dance Spirit School.

We would like to thank all for participating in SATSANG 2015 RANGOLI Competition. Results were announced by DR. Java Joshi (Academy of Creative Artswww.academyofcreativearts.org/press/.../3/.../lokvani-talks-to-dr-java-jos..) last evening and although she gave specific comments for winners below, she was totally impressed by everyone's work.  We introduced 3 prize for the kids as well and all the participating kids also got a token price.

30 entries were submitted with over 20 kids below 8years to 16 participating. All the kids were so amazed at their own ability of creating such beautiful artwork with Rangoli colors, sand art, flowers, playdough....imagination was at its peak, even the adults were amazed at such confidence and pride in doing their own art work. 1st prize winner Shubham Purohit (7 years), was so confident of his winning, he came up to Bina Morparia and told her" I am Shubham and I will do shiva and I am the winner!!".
