Press Release 09/23/2015 It is that time of the year again. The days are getting shorter and very soon there will be a nip in the air. We will be bidding farewell to the warmth of summer and then wait for the riotous fall colors to emerge. But the true excitement is in the anticipation of Durga Puja. The spirit of the Puja festivities is contagious and affects us all. On Saturday, Puja will start at 11 am followed by Prasad and Lunch. The evening dinner will start at 5:30 pm and the concert at 7:00 pm. Saturday’s performer is Chandrabindoo (a famous Bangla Band from Kolkata). CHANDRABINDOO has recently celebrated its 25-year anniversary as a testimony to their success and versatility in the Bengali music scene. To complement this success, Anindya in 2015 made a very successful debut as a director of the movie Open Tee Bioscope with Upal contributing to music composition as well as in playback singing along with Anindya. Sunday Morning, October 25th (10AM - 12 Noon) Swami Yogatmanandaji of the Ramakrishna Vedanta Society, Rhode Island, will perform Arati and give a talk on Devi Durga in English. This will be followed by devotional songs by local artists. Nabami and Dasami Pooja will be performed after this. On Sunday Afternoon, October 25th we will enjoy the performances of the following artists from Kolkata. The evening dinner will be served after concert. Sunday’s Performer: Parnava Banerjee (Champion Zee TV Bangla Golden Voice 2006). Parnava is a regular Artist of TARA MUZIK, ZEE Bangla, Akash Bangla, Star Jalsa, Kolkata Doorodarsan Etv Bangla etc. Parnava has the wonderful gift with a melodious voice, his music has the intensity to explode on stage! He is a versatile singer – Champion of Zee TV Bangla Golden Voice’2006-Parnava. Ayan is a singer and has been trained in Indian Classical Music from a very tender age. He will be presenting an evening full of mellifluous Hindi and Bengali songs and will mesmerize you with his performance. The songs will cover different genres and varied emotions and will surely strike a chord with the audience.
