Indian Americans for Burlington (IAB) held a “Meet, Eat, and Greet” event at Simonds Park in Burlington on Saturday, August 22nd.  Volunteers brought variety of foods, fruits, pastries, desserts, and soft drinks to share with the attendees.

Shashank Bakre, Gini Dutta, and Sutanuka Basu lead the efforts to advertise, organize and successfully execute the event. IAB executive committee and founding members helped organizers various activities associated with this event.

Over 70 people attended the event - A Huge Success!  Also, IAB kicked off its Membership Drive at this event.  We saw a lot of enthusiasm in the community for this organization to grow and flourish with time to achieve all its goals.  

Introductions were conducted to seek individual interests.  IAB's president, office holders, Board of Directors and Founding members provided information regarding IAB’s mission of promoting Educational, Civic, Charitable, and Community activities.  All attendees pledged their support by not just offering to be the volunteers in perusing various IAB goals, but by becoming life members and annual members to further IAB's cause and make it a strong entity.

After greeting and eating, all attendees gathered to play a game of Bingo hosted by Dr. Anil Saigal, IAB's Board Director.  Winners happily donated their winnings to IAB.

The next IAB event will be a “Holiday Dinner” in late October or early November.  It will be an night-to-remember fun-filled with activities including delicious food, a DJ, and dancing the night away.  Get ready to mark your calendar as soon as the date is published.

IAB is now offering a life ($100) and annual ($25) membership for families.  An annual individual membership is also available for $15.  Please contact the following officers for further information:
