Press Release 07/02/2015 Each June, youth from across the nation are honored in the US Capitol for earning Congress’ highest award for youth – the Congressional Award Gold Medal. Arjun Sridhar was one of the 6 young recipients of this award from Massachusetts this year. He received the award from his district Congressman Joe Kennedy. The Congressional Award is the United States Congress’ award for young Americans who set and achieve the program goals in four distinct areas that help foster character and community outreach. This is not an academic program. In addition to areas of personal growth, exploration and physical activity, Arjun has spent considerable time at city of newton election commission office assisting with everyday activities and events as well as volunteering his time at the local non profit community farm that promotes sustainable growing practices. He is a proud student of Tara Bangalore that has given him the gift of a life friend in indian violin. He recently graduated from Newton South High School in their top 10% and has decided to attend Washington University in St.Louis from this fall.
