The Indian Americans for Burlington (IAB) was recently formed with a mission to provide and promote Civic, Charitable and Educational activities for Burlington residents. It continues to meet to explore further ways to unite Burlington Indian residents to demonstrate our strength and to get involved in main stream, local, Burlington town activities.
As its first activity, IAB established the Indian Americans for Burlington Scholarship, an award which is given to a graduating senior who has demonstrated scholastic achievement, and plans to attend a four year college or university pursuing a major in science and engineering or study of Indian History.
Dr. Anil Saigal represented the association at the awards ceremony on June 4, 2015. The winner of the 2015 award was Hammad Sadiq who will be attending Worcester Polytechnic majoring in Biotechnology.
The Burlington Community Scholarship Foundation was started in 1988 and provides scholarship opportunities for residents in the town.
