K. Arvind 06/04/2015 Vidwan O.S. Thiagarajan to Release Music Album in Nashua ALBUM The renowned Carnatic musician, Sangeeta Choodamani Sri O.S. Thiagarajan will release a Carnatic vocal music album titled “Nadopasana – Musical Worship†in Nashua, NH this Sunday, June 7th. The album features the wonderful voice of his daughter and Boston area vocalist Smt. Aparna Balaji, accompanied by popular Boston area instrumentalists Sri Surya Sundararajan on the violin, and Sri Gaurishankar Chandrashekar on the mridangam. This album is part of the Dwell on Dharma series of music albums released under the auspices of the Hindu Temple of New Hampshire and Bharathi Vidyashram, the cultural school associated with the Temple. The album which was recorded, post-processed and mastered at the Flying Penguin Tracks Studio, Londonderry, NH, will be simultaneously released as a compact disc (CD) and made available on various online outlets including iTunes. Proceeds from the album will benefit the Hindu Temple of New Hampshire. CONCERT The release function will be held at 6:45PM in the main hall in the Hindu Temple of New Hampshire and will include a concert by the album artists Smt. Aparna Balaji, Sri Surya Sundararajan and Sri Gaurish Chandrashekar. The event is free and open to all. Copies of the CD will be available for purchase at the event. CHIEF GUEST The guest of honor at the event Vidwan Sri O. S. Thiagarajan is perhaps one of the few male vidwans, whose gifted voice is in complete alignment with the Shruti, and whose effortless oral expression combines with authentic traditional background, leaving the listener in an extremely comfortable zone. He is an ardent devotee of music and a senior vocalist of repute. He learned music initially from Guru and father Sangeetha Bhushanam Shri O.V. Subramaniyam and later received guidance from Padmashri Lalgudi G. Jayaraman and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Late T.M. Thyagarajan.
