In a first for a Cannes red carpet appearance, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan showed some leg in a dramatic Ralph and Russo gown as she attended the Youth premiere at the ongoing French Film Festival.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan, out on bail after being convicted in a 2002 hit-and-run accident case, on Wednesday moved the Bombay High Court seeking permission to travel to Dubai for a show later this month. On May 6, Mr Khan was convicted by the sessions court for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and sentenced to five years in jail.On May 8, the High Court granted him bail and suspended his sentence pending the hearing and disposal of his appeal against the conviction. The High Court had also said that the actor would need to seek the court's permission every time he wanted to leave the country. Mr Khan's application, filed today, says that he wants to travel to Dubai for a show on May 29. A vacation bench of the High Court is likely to hear the matter next week.

Just a while ago, Badlapur and Hunterr actress Radhika Apte was all over the media with controversies about leaked nude pictures (which she denied were hers) and a video leak, with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap filing a Police Complaint and going to town over it. But all the scandalous hue and cry on the social media does not seem to have helped Apte with a response at the box-office. Her new Telegu film Lion starring her with actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna and Trisha Krishnan is reported to have 'meowed' at the regional box-office.

Director Mohit Suri wanted to capture a sandstorm shot for his forthcoming film "Hamari Adhuri Kahani" and use it as a metaphor for the impending problems brewing between the romance of Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan's characters in the film.According to a source, "Suri, who was shooting in the UAE, had a very small window to shoot this sequence before the sandstorm lashed on. However, on the given day the calculations went all haywire as the weather became extreme and Mohit was advised not to shoot".  But the actors were more than willing to extend their help. "Emraan and Vidya stepped up and told the director that they don't mind trying to get the shot before the sandstorm trapped them. And when Mohit said 'Action', the scene was taken in just one shot," the source added.

Ace tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi is all set to roll his third production venture with Richa Chadda and Ali Fazal in lead roles. Bhupathi has partnered with producers Virender Arora and Arjun N Kapoor for the project. The trio has earlier produced 'Chalo Dilli' and 'Abhi Nahin To Kabhi Nahin' — the latter having gone on floors early this month.
