"Away Games is an intelligent and enlightening television series that uses sport in an entirely new way—as a lingua franca to invite a new demographic to take part in discussions around human rights, social justice, women’s rights, and conflict resolution. We also develop curricula and learning units for high school and college students, using sport to generate interest in civics, history, and world affairs." Bhatnagar says.
Host and creator Ken Shulman is an award winning journalist who has covered soccer World Cups, alpine ski races, sumo wrestling, bloodless bullfighting, and wild boar hunting for National Public Radio, Newsweek, The New York Times, The International Herald Tribune, and the BBC.
