Congratulations to Dr. Suresh Reddy for being appointed as the Treasurer of AAPI (American Association of Physicians of India) after winning the election by a vast majority on April 4, 2015.

It is a very proud moment for Indian Medical Association of New England (IMANE), me personally and and as the President of IMANE to have a first ever candidate from our region & committee board, win this election and become a part of Executive Committee of the prestigious national level organization of Physicians of India, with over 100,000 physician members!!!

Dr. Reddy received his initial medical education from Osmania/ Kakatiya Medical College, Residency from SUNY Stony Brook & Clinical Fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology from Harvard Medical School. He has been serving on the faculty of Harvard Medical School as Interventional Neuroradiologist for past 15 years. He has been awarded 'Resident Research Award' and 'Teacher of the year Award' four times.

He has served on the committee of IMANE as the Executive Committee member, Chaired Sub Committees and also received IMANE President's Award in 2014 for his outstanding contributions. He is also the Regional Director of AAPI representing North East region. His contributions to AAPI include organizing the first ever CME accreditation at Global Summits, CME cruises, and being the National CME Chair. He is also the National IT chair for AAPI.

He has been actively involved in projects like education on 'Advances in Stroke Management' & 'Prevention of Childhood Obesity'. He has helped raise 1 million dollars for his medical school along with his alumni.

Dr. Reddy said that one of his goals for future was to strengthen ties between IMANE & AAPI.His vision for AAPI is to make it a purely Professional/Academic society, to bring more younger physicians in the forefront and to form a bridge between senior leadership and young physicians. He sees every member of these two organizations as 'Solo' forces and wishes to align all the 'Solo' forces to make it an 'Enormous' force!

On behalf of IMANE, I would also like to congratulate Dr. Sajani Shah Kapasi, who has been unanimously nominated as the next Regional Director to represent North East region in AAPI,starting her term in June,2015.
