Tabla master Zakir Hussain has long explored cross-cultural music fusions with the likes of Mickey Hart, Bela Fleck, John McLaughlin, and Yo-Yo Ma.  His newest project, Celtic Connections, pairs the beautiful and flowing melodies of Celtic instruments including bodhran, violin, pipes, flutes, and whistles with Indian tabla, bamboo flute, and Carnatic (south Indian) violin. This ground breaking ensemble tours North America performing The Pulse of the World for the first time with a stellar lineup of Indian and Celtic musicians.
