Holi is a spring festival and also known as festival of colors, is celebrated on the Phalgun Pournami day. As an ancient Hindu religious festival Holi is celebrated as the symbol of victory “Good over badâ€.
New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar (NESSP) preformed Satyanarayana Vrat katha on the evening of the auspicious Holi Pournami. As the Sun was setting and the Moon started to rise, the Kalash was set up on the main podium by the priest along with beautifully decorated mandap for Sri Satyanarayana Swami, while the volunteers were setting up the prayer hall with the pooja thalis for the devotees to perform the vrat katha and preparing mahaprasadam for deities and devotees.
The youth volunteers actively participated and attended to the needs of the devotees providing them with pooja materials throughout and this shows how today’s youth is committed to preserve the culture and taking our community and its values to the next level.
All the devotees witnessed the blissful evening and truly enjoyed the festivities and Bhandara (Prasad) was served following baba’s Dhoop Aarthi.
