New England Shirdi Sai Temple Celebrates Maha Sivaratri And Sai Nrityanjali

New England Shirdi Sai Temple run by NESSP, is a community of enthusiastic professionals, who show the same amount of professionalism and commitment towards spreading the will and love of Baba. All major festivals are celebrated with great pomp and splendor, and the Maha Sivaratri and Sai Nrityanjali was no exception to this.
Mahanyasa Ekadasa Rudrabhishekam was performed in the evening of 17th February, with each and every devotee getting the privilege of performing the abhishekam by themselves. The bhajans and chants went piercing past midnight, to appease Lord Neelakanth, and mitigate the maladies of the ‘hala-hal’. He swallowed poison, so the world may taste nectar. We are forever grateful.
On the occasion of Shivratri, NESSP conducted Sai Nrithyanjali, was a visual treat to say the very least. Under the diligent eye of Ms. Jeyanthi Ghataraju, many Kids and teachers participated and performed immaculately choreographed classical renditions. Most of the prominent dance teachers and their disciples from New England area participated in this 5 hours classical retreat. Watched by a devotee count running into hundreds, prominent among the spellbound audience were Nataraja himself, the lord of all dance forms, and our beloved Sadguru. The resounding applause after every program was itself an equivalent of the “Har Har Mahadev†Chant.
NESSP is an independent local organization that has been serving the devotee needs for last nine years. In addition to temple related activities, NESSP also believes in helping the community that its part of. The organization has an active Charitable and Philanthropy charter. The different charitable activities NESSP has undertaken in the past are: Disaster Relief, Annadaan (food donation) to the homeless, Winter Clothes drive – Collection and distribution of warm winter clothes to the needy. Red Cross Blood donation drives, Lowell General hospital cancer center walks. NESSP is run by a dedicated team of volunteers.
