Harvard Pilgrim recognizes that many consumers go beyond hosting their international family members, and actually need a form of temporary medical coverage for their stay. We are pleased to introduce Visiting Family Health Care Coverage, a new program for international travelers, in partnership with International Medical Group® (IMG).
Meeting the needs of consumers
Our Asian Indian and Asian members spoke, and we listened. “Through meetings with our Asian Indian and Asian members, we were asked how they can help their family, usually their parents, to be insured while they are visiting their grandchildren here in the U.S.,†explains Rose Hom, Harvard Pilgrim’s Relationship Manager. “In an effort to help our members meet their needs, Harvard Pilgrim implemented the Visiting Family Health Care Coverage program that is also available to non Harvard Pilgrim members. “
Flexible coverage and quality service
Visiting Family Benefits provides two levels of medical coverage – Patriot America Insurance ® and Visitors Care Insurance ®. Both offerings provide short-term coverage from five days up to two years. Patriot America is a higher-premium offering that includes non-medical features such as lost luggage and trip interruption coverage. Visitors Care is a lower-premium offering with a broad package of scheduled benefits for travelers with nine separate options.
