K. Arvind 01/08/2015 Expansion of the Hindu Temple of New Hampshire – Appeal for Support ॠनमः पà¥à¤°à¤£à¤µà¤¾à¤°à¥à¤¥à¤¾à¤¯ शà¥à¤§à¥à¤§ जà¥à¤žà¤¾à¤¨à¥ˆà¤•à¤®à¥‚रà¥à¤¤à¤¯à¥‡ Om Namah Pranavaartaya shudhdha gyanaikamoortaye embodiment of the purest knowledge and the very meaning of “Om†The Hindu Temple of New Hampshire, Nashua, NH is embarking on its first significant expansion project, as it approaches the second anniversary of moving into its own premises at 525, Broad Street, Nashua, NH in April 2013. During these two years, the Hindu Temple of New Hampshire has continued to grow into a religious center that has made a difference in the lives of the members of the community through its religious, spiritual, cultural, and value-emphasizing educational services. The Temple is now expanding to provide the devote community a fuller spiritual environment and experience by adding Sannidhis (sancta sanctorum) for Sri Medha Dakshinamoorthi and the Navagraha Devatas, and provisioning for performing Homam/Havan. The Temple seeks your help and generous support in this expansion by participating in its “Donate-A-Brick†fundraiser. Evolution of the Temple The deities presently enshrined in the Temple include Lord Shiva in the form of Sri Meenakshi Sundareswara along with his divine consort Sri Meenakshi, Lord Vishnu in the form of Sri Srinivasa (Balaji) along with his divine consorts Sri Sridevi and Sri Bhoodevi, Sri Ganesha, Sri Subrahmanya with his divine consorts Sri Valli and Sri Devasena, Sri Ayyappa and Sri Hanumanji. With the blessings of Paramacharya and the Jagadgurus, the grace of the Almighty, the support and patronage of devotees and donors, and the nishkaama karma (selfless service) of its volunteer corps, the Temple is now seeking to add Sannidhis for Sri Medha Dakshinamoorthi and the Navagraha Devatas, and to provision for performing Homam/Havan. Sri Dakshinamoorthi is regarded as the manifestation of Lord Shiva as the supreme Guru, who is the very personification of spiritual wisdom, and who bestows liberating knowledge through the language of silence. The iconography of Sri Dakshinamoorthi as described in the Sri Dakshinamoorthi Stotram, a beautiful hymn composed by Sri Adishankara, is itself said to contain the essence of Vedantic spiritual wisdom. The presence of Sri Dakshinamoorthi in the Temple will make the Hindu Temple of New Hampshire, a special place in the Greater Boston area, for seekers of spiritual enlightenment. The Navagraha devatas form an important part of Hindu worship, as these deities are regarded as influencing various aspects of life. A shrine for the Navagrahas where the Almighty is regarded as being enshrined in the form of nine planetary deities is a prominent part of a typical Hindu Temple. The deities are placed next to each other on an altar, each facing a specific direction, with Surya Devata (the Sun) at the center. Devotees offer their devotions by circumambulating the altar and reciting the Navagraha Stotra and prayers for well-being. The addition of the Navagraha Devata Sannidhi will add an important element of worship at the Hindu Temple of New Hampshire. The Temple also needs to provide proper structures for performing Havans/Homams which form important part of Temple rituals. The proposed expansion project will install the required structures for this.
