TyE Students Awarded Patent #8,903,378

Five high school students took part in the Tie Young Entrepreneur (TYE) program in 2012. The competition included coming up with a product idea, form a company, create a business plan including product, sales, marketing, and finance. The business plan was presented in front of a panel of VCs.
They came with a product idea called Reperio - RFID based tracking device for misplaced items, with smart phone integration. They won the third place in the competition.
After that they really thought that the idea has a really good potential and filed for the patent. It is officially issued as of Dec. 2, 2014. Here is the link to the issued patent http://1.usa.gov/1vUm8LL
