Boston Sargam will be hosting the 2014 Bollywood Music & Dance Competition on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Ashland High School, 65 E Union St, Ashland, MA. Ritu Sagar will be the featured singer at the event while Minu Purushottam will make a guest appearance.

After the great success of her first album “Akhiyan”, which has been recognized and appreciated by global audiences especially in England, Australia, India, Pakistan and Canada, Ritu Sagar’s second album “Ishq Da Halla” was released by iconic music director Uttam Singh Ji in Bombay on Sep. 1, 2014. In this album, all the songs have a Bollywood touch, absorbed in full melody and have terrific dance beat. One of the songs (Mere Nall Nach Ranjna) was sung by Ritu Sagar in the Harbhajan Maan’s concert: Dil Apna Punjabi which was recently held in Shrewsbury, MA.

The New album “Ishq Da Halla” took more than one year to produce and all the lyrical content were lyricized by Shammi Jalandari (currently living in Australia). The music is harmonized by iconic music director Ajay Kumar and produced by Vikranta Production (Bollywood Music Group). Now during the upcoming talent show being organized by Boston Sargam team, Ritu will be performing Bollywood Dhamaka-Show on December 13, 2014 and she will sing songs from this outstanding album “Ishq Da Halla”.

Ritu Sagar will be singing live with full band that will be supervised by Shelly Sherring, Arun Verma and Professor Kai Turnbull (Berklee College of Music). Her Manager reported that Ritu will be heading back to Bombay, India soon after the Dec 13 show to shoot her video on Mahjabeen & Ishq Mainu Larhiya songs. Ritu will be singing in a Bollywood movie “Jugni-NRI” and the details of this movie will be released soon.

Boston Sargam's 2014 Bollywood Dance & Music Competition will be held on December 13th (Saturday) at the Ashland High School auditorium. This will be a spectacular show of talent, music, dance, with state-of-the-art high-technology audio-visual.


It will be 5th Anniversary of Boston Sargam which will include  competition categories such as:

Solo Song
1)Age 10 to 16
2)Age 17 to 30
3)Age 31 and above

Solo Dance
1)Age 10 to 16
2)Age 17 and above

Group Dance
1)Age 10 to 16
2)Age 17 and above

Boston Sargam's spectacular show of music and dance will include professional light/sound system, unique and customized backdrops, two large side screens, and many moving heads/revolving lights to entertain the audience. According to organizers, entire auditorium plus stage will be supervised by several light and sound engineers who will ensure smooth running of upcoming program.

Boston Sargam organizers have faced overwhelming response which was received at the time of auditions when highly talented participants took part to showcase their amazing talent. Minu Purushottam will be coming all the way from Chicago to make a guest appearance and she will also be a judge in a singing category along with two other judges. Event will include award ceremony and winners in each category will be presented with Boston Sargam trophies.

As part of the event, activities will include a MELA which will involve tables and booths for Indian jewelry and traditional garments. SARGAM Mela activities strive to promote art & craft style exhibitions where children and adults can enjoy the spirit of our rich South Asian culture.
