Shoddy editing, clichéd situations and a hackneyed plot drags this film down to the pits. Revolving around the lives of three friends and their respective love interests, the film falters often and chugs along at a sophomoric pace.

Deep (Sanjay Suri) and Rishi (Rahul Bose) are copywriters by day and musicians by night. Apart from their aim to clinch a musical comepetition Jhankar Beats, which they have lost for two consecutive years, they also share a love and devotion for the late great RD Burman. Deep gets tlc and encouragement from his wife Shanti (Juhi Chawla) an epitome of patience and love, while Rishi has been kicked out of his house by wife Nicki (excellently portrayed by Rinke Khanna).. Then there is Neel (debutant Shayan Munshi), who, plays for Deep’s band and woos Preeti (a-zombie like Riya Sen).
The three are also trying hard to come up with a slogan for a product that they hope to clinch an ad campaign plan with. Peripheral characters walk in and out of the story and have precious little to contribute to the film. The story meanders along and ends with the arrival of the baby, the much awaited contest and a final confrontation between Nicki and Rishi.

The performances are average, Rahul Bose disappoints after his brilliant performance in Aparna Sen’s Mr. and Mrs. Iyer whereas Sanjay Suri is better here than he was in Filhaal. Juhi turns in a pleasingly mature performance and Rinke Khanna does a great job as the feisty Nicky. Shayan Munshi is adequate and Riya Sen is pathetically lacking in anything resembling talent.

The only saving grace is the novel approach to the story. The film is not for the queasy or the ones among us who are easily shocked. There is plenty of banter about sex and related topics. The easy chemistry between Suri and Bose and their exchange of dialogues from Sholay offer some respite in between scenes.
This well intended venture has done fairly well at the Box Office in India.
